Drivers Needed This Week

We need drivers who can pull the small band trailer to regional band festivals this week. This is a great way to help out the band and get to see your child play on stage at regionals!

Wind symphony will be performing on Wednesday. We need someone who can be at the school at 12:30 PM to get the trailer hooked up and be ready to leave at 1:00 PM to head to the performance.

On Thursday, both the concert and symphonic bands will be performing. We need a driver at the school at 8:30 AM so that the band can get loaded and leave at 9:00 AM.

If you have a suburban or pickup truck and can help by pulling the band trailer on either of these days, please contact Mr. Mangelson (bmangelson@alpinedistrict.org) to make arrangements. Thank you!

 


Clothing Drive and Pancake Breakfast

The clothing drive and pancake breakfast is less than three weeks away. Spring break is a great time to do some spring cleaning and gather up that clothing that isn’t going to be used and needs to be donated.

Don’t forget to share the event on the band Facebook page and spread the information to your family and friends.

The pancake breakfast will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, at Neptune Park in conjunction with the Saratoga Springs Easter egg hunt, which starts at 9:00 AM. This fundraiser helps cover the cost of meals for the band during the competition season.

Clothing gathered for the clothing drive should be dropped off at Lakeview Academy (across the street from Neptune Park) between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 15.

You can prepay for the pancake breakfast online to skip the payment line that morning. To pay in advance, go to www.thunderband.com and look for the pancake breakfast payment links on the right side of the page. These links will take you to MySchoolFees.com to make your payment. Bring your receipt with you to the breakfast to skip the line.

 


Clothing Drive and Pancake Breakfast Help Needed

There are still a few items we need to have donated for the pancake breakfast. The city is expecting a huge turnout and we need lots of help to make this successful.

Banner Sponsorship Program

Our banner sponsorship fundraiser is going on right now. Each student is asked to find one sponsor for the band to go towards our uniform fundraiser. Any additional sponsorships found will go towards student fees. Additional information can be found on the fundraising page on the web site.

 


April Band Booster Meeting

Our next band booster meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 8:00 PM in the Westlake band room. This is a change from our normal meeting date due to spring break and has been scheduled the night at the meeting for the April music department tour. Parents with students attending the music department tour meeting should arrive at 7:00 PM for that meeting and the band booster meeting will follow directly after at 8:00 PM.

All parents are always invited to all booster meetings. Booster meetings are the best way to get informed and find out how you can get involved and help out. We hope to see you there!
