Clothing Drive and Pancake Breakfast
Our next big fundraiser is our clothing drive and pancake breakfast. The pancake breakfast is an annual fundraiser held in conjunction with the Saratoga Springs Easter egg hunt, which is being held this year on Saturday, April 15. We are excited to be hosting the pancake breakfast again this year and to add the clothing drive as part of this fundraiser.
We hope that you have begun collecting clothing for the clothing drive. We are asking that each student collect 20 of the 33-gallon black garbage bags full of used clothing. Many students who have started collecting have exceeded this goal. Let your neighbors know that you are collecting and they will thank you for saving them a trip to DI!
Our first clothing drop is this Wednesday, March 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the band trailer in the Westlake parking lot. If you have been gathering clothing and need to get it out of your living room, Wednesday is the day. The final drop will be on Saturday, April 15, at Lakeview Academy across from Neptune Park.
If you need more information about this fundraiser, how it works, and the details and deadlines, please see the Clothing Drive flier posted on www.thunderband.com.
The pancake breakfast will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, at Neptune Park in conjunction with the Saratoga Springs Easter egg hunt, which starts at 9:00 AM. This fundraiser helps cover the cost of meals for the band during the competition season.
You can prepay for the pancake breakfast online to skip the payment line that morning. To pay in advance, go to www.thunderband.com and look for the pancake breakfast payment links on the right side of the page. These links will take you to MySchoolFees.com to make your payment. Bring your receipt with you to the breakfast to skip the line.

The city has told us that they are expecting a HUGE turnout for the pancake breakfast this year. The sign-up link below is for items to be donated or borrowed and people needed to make this event a success. Because of the estimated turnout, we really need the help and we can’t do it without you. Fundraiser Meeting Information
Thank you to all who attended our fundraising meeting on March 8. The fliers and handouts that were distributed at the meeting have been posted on www.thunderband.com under the Fundraising link at the top of the page. That page also has the PowerPoint presentation and a video of the meeting.
During the meeting, we said that the fliers would be sent out via email, but have opted to post the materials directly on the web site to make the information more widely available. All of this information can be downloaded from the fundraising page at your convenience.
If you were not in attendance at the meeting, we urge you to familiarize yourself with this information. Our success in fundraising depends on the participation of ALL of our students and parents!
Winter Guard Competitions
Congratulations to our A and open winter guard teams who traveled to Arizona for their first regional competition on Saturday. The open guard placed 4th and the A guard placed 8th. Congratulations to both teams on a strong first showing!
The next winter guard competition will be at Westlake High School on Saturday, March 18. This will be a huge competition because it is the last competition prior to the state finals. We need of lots of volunteers to make this competition a success. If you are available to help at this competition, please sign up for a shift at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0949aead2eaaf94-westlake.
Prop Cleanup
Thank you to those came to help tear down props on Saturday. We are so grateful for your time and service!
